Big announcement by Nitin Gadkari. Now FASTag will be made for the whole year in 3,000

FASTag Annual Pass: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement in the Parliament. He has announced the FASTag Annual Pass by posting it on social media platform X. “As a transformational step towards hassle-free highway travel, we are introducing FASTag-based annual pass priced at ₹3,000 effective 15th August 2025,” the Union Minister wrote in his X post. “
Passes only for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, vans, etc.

Nitin Gadkari clarified that this pass has been specially designed only for non-commercial private vehicles (cars, jeeps, vans etc) and will enable seamless travel on national highways across the country. A separate link for activation / renewal of annual pass will soon be made available on the Highway Yatra App and websites of NHAI / MoRTH, making the process simpler and smoother.
The system will reduce disputes at toll plazas
“The policy will ease long-standing concerns regarding toll plazas within 60 km radius and simplify toll payments through a single, accessible transaction,” the minister wrote. “By reducing waiting time, reducing congestion and eliminating disputes at toll plazas, the annual pass policy is committed to a faster, smoother and better travel experience for millions of private vehicle drivers.
When will the new FASTag system be launched?
Nitin Gadkari announced on the social media platform X that the new FASTag-based annual pass is starting from 15 August 2025. The pass will be valid for one year or up to 200 trips from the date of activation, he said.
