MP News: Two big zoos will be built on the lines of Vanatara, announced CM Mohan Yadav

MP News: Important steps are being taken by the Madhya Pradesh government in the direction of wildlife conservation and promotion. Now on the lines of Ambani’s Vantara, two new zoos will be built in Ujjain and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. With its construction, biodiversity conservation will increase in Madhya Pradesh as well as environmental education and ecotourism will also get a boost.
Forest department additional secretary Ashok Varnwal confirmed the development. A detailed project is being prepared for two new zoos and rescue centres. Once the DPR is prepared, it will be sent to the Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi. A new zoo will also be built in Jabalpur, the details of which are almost ready.

On the lines of the famous Van Tara Wildlife Rescue Centre in Gujarat, a rescue centre and animal welfare project are also being set up in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the initiative in this direction. Soon, a team of officials will go to Gujarat to evaluate Vantara so that it can be built in Madhya Pradesh.
A proposal has also been mooted by the state government to fence around 160 km of the protected area with an aim to protect wildlife and prevent human interference. Many times animals become victims of accident that is why fencing of the area will be done now.
